Here We Believe was started in December of 2016, in the wake of the US presidential election. Through the sale of signs, Here We Believe raised funds to support progressive organizations who fight every day for social and environmental justice. Initially a local effort in Evanston, Illinois, Here We Believe signs quickly caught on state-wide, and soon they were in front yards, schools, store windows and marches, all over the United States.
In 2018, we partnered with MoveOn.org, who introduced the Here We Believe sign to their audience of millions, with proceeds of the month-long collaboration supporting Move On efforts to mobilize communities.
By 2020, Here We Believe had reached supporters in 82 countries, and raised funds benefitting more than 50 organizations. Sign sales through HereWeBelieve.org concluded in 2020.
Today, there are countless similar signs available online. We suggest that shoppers look for sellers who donate proceeds.
